Mistaken for someone else

When you have a very common name like "Joe Kim," you may get mistaken for someone else. This has happened to me on many different occasions.

Namesake: A person or thing that has the same name as another: "because she was my namesake, Elizabeth received many Christmas presents from me". homonym

Sometimes, I feel that the name "Joseph or Joe Kim" is ubiquitous. We're everywhere. It's easy to confuse us for someone on the Internet. Someone on the news. Someone rich and famous.
